How to LinkedIn Better (lesson 2 - your profile picture)

Yes we get it.

You are an interesting & unique person.

You have a family

You go on beach holidays (usually)

You like sport

. . . . & cocktails.

But guess what?!?! LinkedIn is NOT the platform to show all of these interesting, wonderful & personal things about you in your profile picture.

LinkedIn is a professional networking site.

It is where recruiters & employers make SNAP decisions about whether or not you will suit their company & can do the job they require.

To ensure you are not dismissed make the photo

📌 Clear

📌 Professional

📌 Plain background

📌 So that you are the only person in the photo

📌 With good lighting

Remember this is not Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter or any of the other Social Media platforms.

If you are selling yourself as a credible professional make it a professional photo. You only get one chance to make a 1st impression – so make it count. Make it great!
